frankincense oil

Most frankincense oil comes from India, where the dry, mountainous climate creates the perfect growing environment to harvest rich and powerful oils from this native tree.

Frankincense oil is an essential oil derived from the resin of the Boswellia Serrata tree. It has a beautiful sweet scent and a color ranging from clear to pale yellow. Frankincense oil is rich in terpenes, and the compound boswellic acid. Yes, it’s truly one of the most effective essential oils for supporting a healthy immune system!*
The resin is harvested from the boswellia tree, and then boiled to extract the oils. The liquid is then steam distilled, to produce a refined, undiluted, all-natural, therapeutic grade essential oil.
Steam distilling is the gentlest way to extract the essential oils, thus maximizing the potency of the oil.

As with any essential oil, it is important to dilute using a quality carrier oil, like fractionated coconut oil. This is important because essential oils in their pure forms can burn the skin. Frankincense oil should not be used by pregnant or nursing women or children unless while under the care of a qualified medical professional. Next, you’ll want to keep unused oil away from sunlight, as it oxidizes the oil, and begins to reduce its effectiveness. The amber glass bottle your oil comes in is well suited for just that task.
Now that we’ve covered the ground rules, we can begin to explore the many benefits of frankincense oil, and how it can help keep you healthy.*
Most of the topical applications of this essential oil use a 5% dilution. This means that for every drop of essential oil we use, we’ll first dilute it with 19 drops of carrier oil. (If you purchased our fractionated coconut oil, it came with a
dilution guide that translates the dilution into teaspoons and tablespoons for easier dilution).
